Stressful Cities

WalletHub has compared more than 180 U. S. cities across 39 key metrics using data ranging from average weekly work hours to the unemployment rate to divorce and suicide rates. Here are their ten most stressed cities for 2023. I’ve added a column showing the political party of each city’s mayor.

Of course, correlation does not prove causation, but there does seem to be more representation of one party that one would expect if the data were purely random.

  1. To defend the indefensible, one must be able to ignore truth. More than that, one must be able to lie with self-righteous vigor, and maybe even believe it.

  2. The on-going Detroitisation of American cities (and some of dear Blighty’s) continues.
