The Taurus molecular cloud 1 (aka TMC-1) is a giant molecular cloud in the constellationof Taurus. It’s notable for containing many complex molecules, including cyanopolyynes (HC3N, HC5N, HC7N, and HC9N).
The Taurus Molecular Cloud is only 430 light-years away from earth. It’s the nearest large star formation region.
