I found this in my inbox on Christmas Day—Yes, it appeared that the Cabin Boy™ wanted to connect to my LinkedIn network. After verifying that this really did come from Schmalfeldt, I did not accept.
And now the Cabin Boy™ is apparently suffering butthurt. The Gentle Reader may wonder to what the Cabin Boy™ refers when he writes of moving to Maryland. When I viewed his profile, it listed him as a candidate for a writer/editor job with the National Institute on Aging which is a part of the NIH based in Maryland. The Gentle Reader may remember that the Cabin Boy™ claims the NIH as one of his multitude of former employers.
So the Cabin Boy™ would have folks believe that when he sent me a request to connect to my LinkedIn network and I verified and denied his request, I was stalking him.
Although I generally prefer Popehat’s description of Bill Schmalfeldt as a “demented freak,” Stacy McCain’s formulation of “deranged cyberstalker” seems to fit this episode.

FWIW, Schmalfeldt is unretired again and using his GS-13 editorial skills—but not in Maryland.
Is the great writer\”demented freak”) doing a sequel to his boy scout porn ?
