I just got finished with my day job for the week when a friend let me know that Matt Taibbi has begun the next dump of Twitter files. I’m gonna go to the kitchen to make a sandwich and get another cup of coffee. When I get back, I’ll see if there’s something unexpected. Maybe I’ll even have a comment.
UPDATE—Well, there weren’t any surprises for me in tonight’s dump. The TL/DR seems to be that everything proceeded as I have foreseen.
My perception is that Twitter was and is a private business concern, providing a utility for communication.
Here’s what I don’t get…
If the FBI had insider influence with Corporate Twitter about what was allowed to be stated on the Twitter utility… why?
Why *would* the FBI have a say in what Twitter customers are allowed to say?
Why *should* the FBI have a say in what Twitter customers are allowed to say?
What would be the motivation for Corporate Twitter to allow the FBI, a federal government agency, a role in Corporate Twitter?
The truthful answers to your question will undoubtedly be … um … troubling.
