  1. To expand on Charlie Martin’s point, I read a further calculation at that time where the NYT could give every reader a Kindle, and release its’ edition digitally; and it would cost 10 times less than doing it with newsprint.

    On the HuffPo, and related blogs, I was reading on NeonRevolt where it was noted that there was an Obama law that devoted $160 million per year to do online propaganda, the “Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act”. It just expired, and online blogs that were getting that money are no longer receiving it, and now have to cut staff or go out of business. Note, while this law as in effect, they didn’t have to be profitable as they were being propped up by taxpayer money.
