SOUND: MODEM CONNECTING FADES UP TO FULL MIKE—SINGLE SHOT—RICOCHET
MUSIC: UP AND UNDER—RECORDED—CUT 1
ANNOUNCER: (VOICE OVER MUSIC) Around Twitter Town and in the territory of the net—there’s just one way to handle the harassers and the stalkers—and that’s with an Internet Sheriff and the smell of “BLOGSMOKE”!
MUSIC: THEME HITS: FULL BROAD SWEEP AND UNDER—RECORDED—CUT 2
ANNOUNCER: “BLOGSMOKE” starring W. J. J. Hoge. The story of the trolling that moved into the young Internet—and the story of a man who moved against it. (MUSIC: OUT)
JOHN: I’m that man, John Hoge, Internet Sheriff—the first man they look for and the last they want to meet. It’s a chancy job—and it makes a man watchful … and a little lonely.
MUSIC: MAIN TITLE—RECORDED—CUT 3
SOUND: Keypad beeps followed by quiet fan whirring.
SMITH: They’ve got no concept of operational security.
SOUND: Chair pulled out.
BRAIN: You mean that dumb stunt with the Facebook post? It’s a common error for a fringe player who wants to look important.
JOHN: We’ve seen it over and over again with this bunch. They’re low-talent, low-achievers who want to be seen as players, so they’ll brag foolishly.
FRIDAY: Or carelessly. Remember when The Grouch sent that email and didn’t mask that he was copying the rest of Team Bomber?
JOHN: Or the email sent to the court during that restraining order case that contained a cc line that didn’t help The Grouch’s case. Yeah. They make our job easy sometimes.
SOUND: Soft popping in background.
PINKY: It will be interesting to see how those claims about hackers working with the feds tie into the 9,000 bucks spent on those bogus documents overseas.
JOHN: Uh, huh. It looks like some of the same people are involved.
SMITH: Do you really think that hacking group is real and that The Bomber is involved?
JOHN: Is the group real? Well. we know that The Bomber hired Roughhouser back in 2010 or 2011 and that Roughhouser fancies himself an IT whiz and social engineering expert. What else would there have been for him to do inside the Equity Through Muzak organization? Roughhouser left the DC area several years ago, but he could be working remotely, or someone else could have picked up the work. Is The Bomber involved? Probably not directly in a hands-on sense. It’s pretty obvious that he doesn’t have the attention to detail necessary to be a successful hacker.
FRIDAY: So you think there really is something to the story that broke this week?
JOHN: It seems like a safe bet that there’s something there.
BRAIN: The popcorn’s ready.
MUSIC: SCENE BUMPER MUSIC—RECORDED—CUT 4

MUSIC: SCENE BUMPER MUSIC—RECORDED—CUT 5
JOHN: (Fading up) … was where The Bomber tried to set up those business connections the first time he got out of prison. Who knows what contacts he might have redeveloped? So that fits with the political operative’s background.
FRIDAY: Yeah. That dovetails with the connection that Johnny Atsign’s IT Nerd turned up. There’s getting to be too many coincidences.
JOHN: Uh, huh. Like Pinky said, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
PINKY: Pass the buttered salt, please.
MUSIC: CLOSING TITLE UP AND UNDER—RECORDED—CUT 6
ANNOUNCER: (VOICE OVER MUSIC) Even with a good imagination, we can’t come up with stories as strange as The Bomber and his buddies provide for episodes of “BLOGSMOKE”!
MUSIC: SWELL AND CONTINUE TO MUSIC OUT
