More Gilmore v. Jones, et al. News

Two more defendants, James Hoft (of Gateway Pundit) and Lee Stranahan, have filed a joint motion to dismiss the Gilmore v. Jones, et al. LOLsuit.

The Gentle Reader who has been following First Amendment issues here at Hogewash! will likely find the defendants choice of legal counsel interesting.

  1. What? They chose Aaron when ace pro-se prosecutor William was available? What are they thinking?

Oh, they intend to win. I get it now.

  2. “Ok, class-

Tonights’ reading assignment is the scribd document embedded in this post. It’s actually a bit less than the 80-page count so it’s very doable. Unless I’m VERY mistaken you WILL see this material AGAIN.

Our campus library is open until 1030 tonight. Or, for those of you who are racists *snort*, the campus Starbucks is open until midnight. Just kidding on that last one; Starbucks is ok and does not cater to racists. A little SJW humor there. Snowflakes.

My office hours this week are 9 to 11AM tomorrow and Friday. Mid-terms in 2 weeks. Use your time wisely between now and then. See you tomorrow.”

Five and half feet below the ground floor joists at a non-descript home in Maryland the MASTER caution light flickers on. In the Brett bunker. Something has occurred which requires attention. Brett Kimberlin flicks the MASTER caution OFF and starts looking over the rest of his instrumentation to see what’s going on.

  3. I am in no way a fan of Hoft – I think he’s a hack, always has been, probably always will be. His blog is a second-rate attempt to emulate the glory days of the National Enquirer, which is not altogether surprising, since Hoft is a second-rate blogger with a second-rate (at best) intellect. I am in no way surprised that he and Alex Jones/Infowars are basically mentioned in the same breath in the lawsuit.

I have no opinion about Stranahan – I’ve never actually read his stuff.

To modify an old axiom, a lawyer who represents Hoft has a fool for a client.

But he’s not, in this case, a liable fool, and he has a first-rate lawyer.

    • Stranahan moved from the left. I have some time for him.

Hoft is exactly the sort of person you DO NOT want on your side. zero integrity.

      • The claim that Jim Hoft has “zero integrity” is an extraordinary claim. Extraordinary claims require an extraordinary level of proof.

          • It may very well be ordinary in today’s degenerate level of political debate, but, if you aspire to a level of discourse above Bill Schmalfeldt and Brett Kimberling it is not.

    • Stranahan is the one I’m most familiar with, more through Schmalfeldt’s attacks than his journalism, but I’ve read him on Breitbart News and heard him on their xm radio show, and seen him made a fool by a lefty news/comedy show. I’ve only seen Jones through mockery by others. So yeah, maybe they’re all fools.

Fools get to have opinions, too.

    • Russ is entitled to his opinion, but, he is simply not entitled to his facts. The Gateway Pundit was rated the fourth most influential media outlet on the right during the 2016 Presidential election. Note the word “influential.” Now, there is nothing wrong with blogging for the sake putting one’s thoughts to print, but, the reality is that most people blog to influence the opinions of others. By the standard many bloggers set for themselves, Jim Hoff is objectively a first-rate blogger.

        • That he is influential is a fact. That he is a “hack” is your opinion. The reality is that your attacks against Jim Hoft are completely devoid of any factual basis.

          • The “evidence” before your eyes simply hasn’t been placed by you before any of the readers eyes. You simply have not made an argument against the man. You have spewed an emotional ejaculation against the man: “Jim Hoft, boo!,”
