The Walker v. Kimberlin, et al. Trial, Day Three, Summary

The Kimberlins have rested their defense. Closing statements will begin at 9:30 tomorrow morning. I expect that the case will go the jury by noon.

I have CDs with the court audio and am reviewing the proceedings. I’ll have more to post as part of the Team Kimberlin Post of the Day coming up at 12:02 am.

Meanwhile, I have some paralegal things to do.

Stay tuned.

  1. BK’s closing statement: “You’re a Big Meanie!!! And You, and You, and You, and You too!!! You’re all Big Meanies!!!! And that is why I am innocent.”

  2. Keeping you out of the courtroom is probably the best strategy they have ever come up with.

Mind you, I’m not saying it’s a winning strategy, just the best one they have ever come up with.

  3. How many Donald Trump references will Brett’s closing arguments have? I predict seven. Didn’t he include Robin Williams or some other tragic celebrity story in one of his trials?

  4. Paralegal stuff to do…

I got nothing. I know Heinlein said any paradox can be paradoctored, but for this?

And no, with enough tovex a paralegal can be paralyzed is not a valid pun for this competition. It’s the only one I could come up with, and it is disqualified, on general principle.

I invite the zombie horde. Let the para games begin.

  5. So in this “endless lawsuits” timeline, this is the first that Brett Kimberlin has had to face as a defendant in a long time? Just checking….

He likes to drive the bus. He doesn’t like it when the bus is aimed at him. Oh, and he has another bus aimed at him, too.

  6. My prediction for tomorrow. Closing arguments at 9:30. Jury gets case at noon. They return a verdict for Arron at 1:30. At 1:42 pm we get word on the blog Arron won. There will be popcorn all night long.

    • The word on the blog at 1:42 will be someone monitoring Twitter for the rest of us; Aaron and Hoge will have a celebratory lunch, Hoge will post a first person recap in the evening, and we will learn all the juicy tidbits when Aaron updates his blog on Wednesday. That is, Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving.

But what he lacks in promptness he will make up for in word count. Especially since he has been holding back in his legal briefs lately…

      • The Wednesday before Thanksgiving works great. Its a slow day at work so I can spend the day reading and rereading about the victory for team free speech.

  7. no directed verdict because from the history, Judge KNOWS this is going to be appealed by Brett, ending no doubt with an appeal for cert to SCOTUS. So I’m sure the Judge is going out of his way to make sure that every i is dotted and every t crossed, and that the jury makes the ruling.

Jury returns verdict by 1:30 for Aaron, BK files 3 appeals by 3:30.
