I think so, Brain … but where would we get enough yak butter on such short notice, and wouldn’t WD-40 be a better lubricant anyway?

No, go with the yak butter. WD40 is a poor lubricant.
WD-40 sucks for everything.
I won’t have it in my house, nor my shop.
Exactly
I use it as a water-displacing solvent that’s a tiny bit slippery (for a while). Handy for clearing the crud off snow plow pins. In my bicycling days, I’d use it to clean a chain and/or freewheel cluster, while chanting “WD-40 is not a lubricant” in the proper rec.bike liturgical manner. It’s mildly useful for getting stickers off merchandise.
The real question is, what’s better for frying with?
Frankly, neither sounds terrifically appealing.
