Team Kimberlin Post of the Day

While trudging through The Mockery Continues, I found these words:

In fact, I could do just that – recycle my old blogs and they’d be just as relevant today as they were the day I wrote them.

Just so. But not the way he thinks.

  1. Bill Schmalfeldt is simply wrong. Once he was a radio personality who might have been heard by hundreds of people a day. As publisher of bbu.com, he might have written for dozens of unique readers [and hundreds of sockpuppets.] Today, he might have fewer than a handful of followers who aren’t listening solely to document the freak show. If the trend continues, he might live blog his demise from a combination of JWR, donuts and rage at WJJHoge without being noticed. If his lifeless body falls randomly on the right switch, we might witness the spectacle of hours, or days of dead air heard by no one finally punctuated by a knock on the door, the sound of a key turning, feet shuffling, etc.

Hope he remembers to always keep enough cat food in the bowl.
