It was a beautiful weekend here in Western Maryland. Mrs. Hoge and I spent part of it in the Catoctin Mountains, in the National and State Parks just south of Camp David.

Very glad to see Mrs. Hoge up and about. From 2011 through 2012 I experienced a great deal of chemo, 3 types progressively more aggressive, culminating in a stem cell transplant. The experience was debilitating and I’m still in the process of regaining my stamina and strength to pre-treatment levels. Fortunately, my side effects were fairly minor, unusually so. The only good thing I can say is that my hair grew back the second time somewhat darker and with less gray. Wish Mrs. Hoge continuing recovery in all ways. There certainly is life after cancer, lots of it.
The colors here in New England were a little muted this year – I think it was because it was such a dry summer. We are past “peak color” now – it looks like you might be at peak now. Here, there are some tree completely bare, and others that haven’t changed yet – sorta weird. Looks like you had a nice weekend – hope you get a few more before the cold really sets in. We’ve had our first frost already.
And how come all those tourists (“leaf peepers” as we call them) who come to see all these “pretty” leaves don’t take a bunch home with them, but leave them for us to clean up?
And if they call it tourist season, why can’t we shoot some of them?

Isn’t that close to Site R?
Beautiful scenery, and the trees are nice too. (Rule five.)
Very nice pics, in so many ways. I spent most of my day driving I-15 through Utah. I’d forgotten how brown Utah is.
I thought it was red. According to my wooden map puzzle, it’s red. Maybe you were in Montana.
Good to see you and Mrs. Hoge enjoying the fall weather!
