Those Bright Spots on Ceres

Ceres-June-6-tightData returned by the Dawn spacecraft has ruled out the possibility that the spots are water ice. The current working theory is some kind of salt, and that will be tested as the spacecraft moves into a tighter orbit.

  1. Well inverse cubic structures would tend to be retro-reflective. Or the voids between cubic crystals. Didn’t the martian water have a bunch of perchlorates?

  2. I was going to suggest that it’s what’s left of TK integrity, but that would actually be a black hole.
