I remember national geographic cover story on the Landsat birds taking pictures of the Nile river mouth. How the radar photos revealed a massive underground network of channels spilling farther out into the Med then previously thought. The photos were spectacular.
I also heard years later that the story was sold to natgeo because the CIA wanted Russia to know how effective our radars are in space, and oh yea, we know where all your silos are.
