Fundraising and Lawfare

Bill Schamlfeldt has another fundraising bleg going (No, I won’t link to it.). He’s trying to raise money to mount a lawfare attack against bloggers who have written truthful things about him. He refers to his effort as “standing with Brett Kimberlin.”

Meanwhile, Aaron Walker, Stacy McCain, Ali Akbar, Kimberlin Unmasked, and I are the victims of a lawfare attack in the form of a frivolous lawsuit from the The Dread Pro-Se Kimberlin. It’s styled Kimberlin v. Walker, et al. and was filed in the Circuit Court in Montgomery County, Maryland. If you would rather support a defense fund than an attack fund, may I suggest that you check out Bomber Sues Bloggers to see how you can help us defend our First Amendment rights for TDPK’s lawfare.

The same five defendants in that state suit are also defendants (along with 17 other parties) in TDPK’s federal RICO Madness which I refer to as Kimberlin v. The Universe, et al. (It’s really captioned Kimberlin v. National Bloggers Club, et al.), and TDPK has filed a bogus copyright infringement suit against Kimberlin Unmasked as well.

Team Kimberlin’s lawfare is an extension of their cyberthuggery. Their plan was to use inexpensive (for them) pro se litigation that would be costly to the victims. The plan worked for awhile, but now they’ve run into real resistance. And they’re facing a strong probability of losing. The Dread Pro-Se Kimberlin says he needs time to find a lawyer, and his Cabin Boy is blegging for money so that he can get one too.

It will be interesting to see what sort of people, if any, want to support Team Kimberlin’s lawfare.

  2. BS’s admissions about his conversations with Tae Kim are interesting for a couple reasons. First, by broadcasting them, he has destroyed privilege on that topic should the need arise to question Mr. Kim. Second, he has provided proof that an attorney doesn’t think he has a legitimate case.
