In Re Hoge v. Schmalfeldt

Yesterday, I filed a petition with the Circuit Court of Maryland for Carroll County seeking to have the peace order granted against Bill Schmalfeldt extended for an additional six months. I also filed a petition with the Court asking that Bill Schmalfeldt be ordered to show cause why he should not be held in contempt of court for his violations of the peace order.

On advice of counsel I do not plan to make any further comment on either petition until the Court has dealt with them.

  1. Hit the tip jar, folks, if you can, or buy through the Amazon link. Litigation is not cheap.

It is time for a cup of Kona. I feel a headache coming on from BS’s incorrect use of legal terminology, yet again, e.g., “filing charges.”

    • I find the timing of his threat a bit troubling. Yesterday, John posted that he was reducing his blogging schedule to take care of a legal matter. Schmalfeldt may in fact have realized that it was to file charges against him. Schmalfeldt issued a tweet that was a threat of retaliation. It is a crime to impede a person in any way from contacting the police to report a crime, or seeking their assistance. Was Bill Schmalfeldt’s tweet criminal?
