… the Canon Rebel T3. I bought mine about six months ago and have been very pleased. The 12.2 MP CMOS sensor provides more than enough resolution for my use, and the ISO 100 to 6400 speed range has worked for me. The 63-zone, dual-layer metering system works well. I’ve only played with the HD movie mode a few times; I’m more interested in still photography. Click here to buy one from Amazon.
The single most useful accessory I have for the camera is the Canon EF 75 to 300 mm lens which I used to make this picture.Buying this package deal saved me a few bucks. I’ve been using the tripod included in the bundle with my spotting scope at the range.
UPDATE—Mrs. Hoge recommends the Nikon S6300. She keeps her Nikon in her purse. She prefers having the 10X optical zoom and the additional megapixels over the nice snapshot camera in her iPhone.
