UPDATE—IANAL, but when I checked on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website dealing with their Sexual Offender Registry, child abuse was not one of the qualifying offenses. It has been said that this plea bargain was turned down because of it forcing Ms. Hunt to register, but pleading to a non-qualifying offense should have have made that a nonissue, shouldn’t it?
