When the Reality Check Bounces


The real world has its way of inflicting itself upon us, as the Progressives always find out a few years after the public foolishly lets them have charge of Washington. It happened in 1980, and it seems to be happening again this year.

As Stacy McCain notes:

The failure of neo-Keynesianism cannot be accepted by the Left. It challenges their worldview and so, in what looks very much like “epistemic closure,” they attack the bearers of disconcerting facts, preferring their ideological theory to the truth.

This kind of denial is never pretty; expect great ugliness through the election and its aftermath.
