While checking out the new layout at Riehl World View (the masthead now says Riehl World News), I found this link to a story at the Puffington Host about an Electoral College model used by a couple of professors at the University of Colorado. They predict a win for Mitt Romney.
To predict the race’s outcome, the model uses economic indicators from all 50 states and it shows 320 electoral votes for Romney and 218 for Obama, according to The Associated Press. The model also suggests that Romney will win every state currently considered a swing state which includes Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Colorado.
Of course, the bulk of the article then goes on to pooh-pooh the results of the modeling and show how the toss up states are still really in play, and YMMV, and, as Patsy the Squire said of Camelot, “It’s only a model.”
Is it November yet?
UPDATE—I should mention that the reason that I had gone to check out the new, improved Riehl World News was because of the good review at The Other McCain—like the New York Times only better.
