Higgs Boson Found

The Daily Mail is reporting that the folks at CERN are “99.99995 per cent sure” they have found the Higgs Boson. The Higgs boson is an elementary particle predicted by the Standard Model of particle physics. The Higgs field is a quantum field that fills all of space, and explains why fundamental particles such as electrons have mass.

Physics Joke for Sunday: A Higgs Boson walks into a church. The priest says, “We don’t allow Higgs Bosons in here.” The Higgs Boson replies, “But if I’m not here, how will you have Mass?”
