Dread Pirate #BrettKimberlin’s Web Presence Shrinks

The Dread Pirate Kimberlin is losing some of his web presence. BreitbartUnmasked.com, a website that many folks believe is either operated or controlled by Brett Kimberlin, has announced that it is closing down. Two days after it and its proprietor (John Doe 1) were added as defendants in Aaron Walker’s federal Walker v. Kimberlin, et al. civil suit, the plug is being pulled.

In his “last post” Mr. Doe 1 makes a false claim that shouldn’t go unchallenged . Here goes.

He writes:

Then suddenly without warning they want BU identified and shut down.

That is not true. The Prayer For Relief in the Amended Complaint (see below) does not seek Mr. Doe 1′s identity, although it is reasonable to assume that it would come out during discovery just as that information is being sought in the discovery going forward in the Virginia Walker v. Kimberlin, et al. case. Indeed, the only remedy sought in the federal lawsuit that would apply to Mr. Doe 1 would be his share of the punitive damages, if awarded. There is nothing about shutting the website down in the Prayer For Relief.

The relief specifically sought against Brett Kimberlin shouldn’t affect Mr. Doe 1, unless, of course, Mr. Doe 1 is Mr. Kimberlin. (Ya’ think?) That relief, by the way, is significant. Mr. Walker is seeking a permanent injunction against Brett Kimberlin under the Maryland SLAPP statute. He asks that Mr. Kimberlin be declared a vexatious “SCALPer” (Suits Criminalizing Actual Lawful Participation) who would be required to clear any further ex parte filings or lawsuits against media entities with an Administrative Law Judge.

Mr. Doe 1′s pulling the plug won’t get him off the hook for any tortious acts he has already committed. He and the rest of Team Kimberlin will be held accountable for their actions.

Tick, tick, tick, tick, …

I also have the Exhibits. They will be a part of a future post after certain personal information is redacted.

UPDATE—Stacy McCain theorizes that John Doe 1 is Neal Rauhauser. Could be. We’ll find out soon enough.
