Jennifer Rubin writes this at WaPo:

It would have been better had he not spoken. Seriously. Like an aging rock star, President Obama, in a downsized venue, with downsized proposal and spewing downsized rhetoric only reminded us how far he has fallen from the heady days of 2008.

She’s not the only one to notice. Glenn Reynolds has been pointing out the similarities between Barack Obama and Nigel Tufnel since last December.

Like Prof. Reynolds, I’ve thought that the prospect of the Obama Administration as Jimmy Carter’s second term was a best case scenario, and its real world performance hasn’t been that good. We’ve had more of a Spinal Tap presidency. Perhaps Marty DiBergi’s big comeback can be a documentary of the Obama years.
