The Mail Online, a UK website, has a story up about the low turnouts for the President’s campaign stops—and about the low blows he is taking against his opponent. Toby Harnden writes:
Obama is waging a relentlessly negative campaign of changing the subject from the one that, overwhelmingly, most Americans care about – the economy. Every week there is a new issue his campaign seizes on, preferring to talk about something, anything other than jobs and 8.3 per cent unemployment.
Lawyers have as saying that when the facts are against you, stress the law; when law is against you, stress the facts; and when the facts and the law are against you, yell and bang on the table. Mr. Obama, himself a lawyer, seems to have adopted this strategy. Given his record, he certainly doesn’t want to discuss the facts. Given the drubbing that many of his policies have had in the courts (Obamacare not withstanding), he hasn’t done well with the law either. But he and his surrogates can yell.
Tax Returns! Bain Capital! Seamus! Rape!
Is it November yet?
